Vacant Board Positions

We are currently in search of volunteers to fill the following position(s):

(note that some of these positions may show as currently filled but the volunteers are looking to step down in the near future)

SECRETARY

DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY

• Director of SMLA
• Record and ensure the accuracy of the minutes of all meetings
• Send out issuance of notices of meetings of the Society, the Board, and any Advisory Council
• Maintain custody of all records and documents of the Society

HEAD MANAGER

DUTIES OF THE MANAGER COORDINATOR

• Coordinate a meeting with all team managers at the beginning of the season to communicate policies and guidelines
• Coordinate team photos
• Communicate via emails and meetings throughout the season with managers for updates and changes
• Communicate and prepare team awards 

EVENT COORDINATOR

DUTIES OF THE EVENT COORDINATOR

• Responsible for coordinating SMLA events: camps, demonstrations, etc, and offer support and guidance for organization of fundraising events
• Where required form an event committee and act as a liaison between the SMLA Board and any active SMLA event committee
• Promote all SMLA hosted tournaments and events
• Promote SMLA Lacrosse - register for community events and look for other advertising opportunities within the community

MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR

DUTIES OF THE MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR

• Manage the SMLA’s store (via website)
• Temporarily store merchandise when needed
• Manage inventory levels and help place new orders when needed
• Help distribute purchases

TOURNAMENT COORDINATOR

DUTIES OF THE TOURNAMENT COORDINATOR

• Take a lead role in planning tournament related activities and forming tournament committees where required
• Act as liaison between any active tournament committees and the Executive Committee
• Maintain presence at all SMLA tournaments either in person or by appointed designate; monitor and report to the Executive Committee
• Ensure any fundraising activities taking place during the tournament are approved by the Executive Committee to ensure that appropriate application and gaming requirements are met
